Light and Joy

“Light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart.” Psalm 97:11

What a precious and beautiful little psalm.  Because God called me and I answered, I know this is for me!  For He has made me righteous and upright in heart.

Sowing seeds and seeing them grow is a completely miraculous experience!  That a plant can grow from such a tiny seed is amazing.  And knowing that the Lord is sowing seeds of light and joy for me is even more miraculous and amazing.  It takes my breath away to think about.

It is a promise of what He will grow and give to us if we let Him.  I must make the choice to let Him cultivate these in my heart every day.  That way, when it is time for the harvest, there will be so much to give away.  For I have also learned that, when grown and cultivated correctly, the harvest can be so large as to be overwhelming!  And, oh how I would love to have an overwhelming abundance of light and joy in me to give away to others!
