Contend Earnestly For The Faith

Scripture exhorts us to "contend earnestly for the faith", to "guard the treasure which has been entrusted to you" to "be on guard against those who vigorously oppose the teaching of scripture". This is an important message for these last days that we are living in because as Jude says "people are creeping into the church unnoticed, who are turing the grace of God into a license to sin". Let us look into the Word of God together and see what is "the faith" and how do we contend for it?

Is There Anything God Can’t Do?

The answer to that question is very important because we live what we believe. What we believe about God and who we are "in Christ" will affect the way we pray and the way we live our lives. Ephesians 3:20 say; Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or imagine, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. When God promised Abraham and Sarah a son, even though she had been barren for 89 years, He said to them, "Is anything too difficult for the Lord?" What are you believing and trusting God for? May this study encourage you and strengthen your faith.

The Lord is My Shepherd Psalm 23

When life seems to be happening all around us and we’re not quite sure how it will all work out, we can remember that the Lord is our Shepherd. He knows exactly what we need and He promises to be with us through the darkest of times. May you rejoice as you are reminded of the faithfulness of our good Shepherd; and may you walk in His presence all your days.

Cry out to God

Are you willing to ask some of the hard questions; the kind of questions that allow God to reveal the true condition of our heart?

This is what the psalmist did that we read about in Psalm 139:23-24.

David asked God to search his heart and to show him any ways he was not following after God, and lead him in the way of righteousness.

Allowing God to search our heart produces fruit that endures and helps us to draw near to Him.

I pray you are blessed as you draw near to Him and allow Him to search your heart.

Coming into Focus (Refuge Vision)

As the hand full of years have past since Jesus started gathering a church called Refuge to Bradenton, He has been increasingly setting a vision on the heart of those called to plant this church. Once again this year, the vision is "Coming into Focus."

In short, the vision is expressed in this simple phrase "Knowing Jesus! Making Jesus Known!" And to keep the body at Refuge on the correct path in achieving this vision, Jesus has given us a handful of guardrails to follow; Discipleship, Seeking, Surrender, Servanthood, Witness & Authenticity.
