It’s like all of mankind was stranded in the open sea with only the promise of God of a Savior to come….Isaiah 62:11-12

Then Jesus came to our RESCUE!

The people saw and were glad… (Matthew 21:1-11)
And as He (Jesus) came into Jerusalem riding on a donkey, the people laid palm branches (thus “Palm Sunday”) on the ground before Him. The Jewish people were welcoming their Messiah, OUR SAVIOR… and they were shouting: Hosanna! Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord!

Some may call it…..
a “rut,” others call it “one more time around the
mountain,” the Apostle Paul may have called it “a thorn in
the flesh,” and lately, I’ve come to call it “ground hog day.”

When it comes to New Year’s Resolutions,
I believe they are conceived and achieved
only by "abiding" in Christ. What does it mean to "abide" in Christ? The answer to this question is the answer to every resolution, and fruit bearing experience we will ever have as Christians.

Sometimes in life we walk too far in our own strength, or we just do something for too long, and we start to break under the pressure. Sometimes we don’t even know we’re tired, so we just keep on keeping on. Finally, God just picks us up and carries us for our own good because He knows we don’t have the strength to make it home....(Isaiah 46:4)

Light and Joy

Flower“Light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart.” Psalm 97:11

What a precious and beautiful little psalm.  Because God called me and I answered, I know this is for me!  For He has made me righteous and upright in heart.

Sowing seeds and seeing them grow is a completely miraculous experience!  That a plant can grow from such a tiny seed is amazing.  And knowing that the Lord is sowing seeds of light and joy for me is even more miraculous and amazing.  It takes my breath away to think about.

It is a promise of what He will grow and give to us if we let Him.  I must make the choice to let Him cultivate these in my heart every day.  That way, when it is time for the harvest, there will be so much to give away.  For I have also learned that, when grown and cultivated correctly, the harvest can be so large as to be overwhelming!  And, oh how I would love to have an overwhelming abundance of light and joy in me to give away to others! :-)
