Update on Charity ( Colleen)

April 10, 2009

Charity update from Elizabeth’s blog today:
After seeing our little Charity this morning – we feel lighter than air. Her sweet nurses gave her another morning bath, brushed her hair and styled it in a little pink scrunchie. She looked and smelled better than ever :) Will and I listened in while the doctors described her progress and their plan for the day.

Apparently she is still having trouble with the lungs. They are continuing to collapse which of course sets her off in all directions. Her blood pressure is fluctuating quite a bit. She is on a variety of drugs which they plan to wean her off of as soon as possible. They will begin testing all of these drugs reducings as well as begin seeing how her tummy will tolerate a bit of formula. She was quite awake this morning and while she was crying, we were delighted to see her eyes wide awake and focusing on our faces.

The doctors are reluctant for us to feel too elated, but we just can’t help ourselves. Our little girlie is strong and she is alive and we are excited to see what the next few days hold for her.

Let us pray for an Easter miracle. We prayed for Charity Tuesday at the Women’s gathering in our small group. Colleen
