Our Vision

To Turn the World Upside Down

We envision God building & equipping a body of believers at Calvary Chapel Bradenton that will make a real & lasting impact on our communities by reaching out and touching hearts & lives with the love of Jesus Christ.

We envision a church body that will not settle with simply going through the motions of church and therefore:

• Loves like Jesus loves (John 13:35)
• Aspires to be students of God's Word (2 Timothy 2:15)
• Are empowered and led by the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8)
• Desire unity in the body by being characterized by humility, gentleness, patience & love for one another (Eph 4:1-5)
• Ministers to the unreached, unconverted, unchurched and unwanted in our communities (Matthew 25:35-36)
• Reaches out selflessly to our local communities and supports missions abroad to take the love of Jesus to the near & far places of the globe (Mark 16:9)

The fields are truly ripe for harvest (John 4:35). We aspire by God's grace that it would be said of this church that "These men (and woman) who have turned the world upside down have come here also" (Acts 17:6b)

Our Mission

Is Jesus' Great Commission -"To Make Disciples"

To realize God's vision for us, our mission at Calvary Chapel Bradenton is to "Make Disciples of Jesus Christ" as commanded by Him in His Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). We do this by Modeling the Church established 2000 years ago in (Acts 2:42), we devote ourselves to the Teaching of the Word, Fellowship, Communion & Prayer.

As we model the early Church of Acts, our role in making disciples is threefold. Win them to Jesus Christ, Disciple them in Jesus Christ & finally Send them out for Jesus Christ. Everything we do at Calvary Chapel Bradenton has its foundation in our mission of "Making Disciples".

#1 WIN

The first step in making a disciple is to win them to Jesus. Therefore we are evangelical in our outreach to our communities (Acts 9:28).

#2 DISCIPLE

Once a person comes to a saving knowledge of Jesus, we then disciple them according to God's discipleship program (Acts 2:42). We do this by putting a strong emphasis on the teaching of God's Word (2 Timothy 4:1-2). That is how God the Father transforms (Romans 8:29) us into the loving image of His Son, through His living and powerful Word.

We also emphasize the importance of being Spirit lead (Acts 1:8). We fully recognize that this is Jesus church and that He is the head of it (Colossians 1:15-20). Therefore in everything we do we want to hear from Him. Through fellowship, communion & prayer God increases our awareness & sensitivity to the Holy Spirit and His desires for the church.

As we study His Word and are guided and empowered by the Holy Spirit, God disciples us to be more like Jesus and equips the saints for the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:12). That's our aim to be more like Him. It's all about Jesus!

#3 SEND

Finally, we send folks out into their own communities so that they too can join in the Great Commission (Mark 16:9).

IN SUMMARY

Win, Disciple & Send... Making disciples. That's our mission. We do this by following the model of the early church, Teach the Word, Fellowship, Communion & Prayer. As we do these things, God, by His Grace will unfold His vision for this body by raising up the most loving, and best feed church in all the area that is accomplishing Jesus Great Commission "To Make Disciples".
